Privacy Policy

UCantWrite ("we," "us," or "our") is a Chrome extension and web dashboard that enhances your AI prompts. We built this product with privacy in mind. This policy explains what data we collect (very little), how we handle your prompts, and what third-party services are involved.

This is not legal advice. It is a plain-language description of our data practices.

1. What Data We Collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. Here is what we do and do not collect:

• We do not store your prompts. When you submit a prompt for enhancement, it is sent to our AI provider, processed, and the result is returned to you. We do not save, log, or retain the content of your prompts or the enhanced output on our servers.
• We do not collect personal data. UCantWrite does not currently require you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information through normal use of the product.
• Usage counters. We track how many enhancement requests you have used in the current billing period (for example, to enforce the free tier limit of 5 enhancements per week). This counter does not include the content of your prompts.

2. How Prompts Are Processed

When you click "Enhance," your prompt is sent from your browser to our backend service, which forwards it to the Anthropic Claude API for processing. The enhanced prompt is returned to your browser. At no point in this flow do we store, cache, or log the content of your prompts on our own servers.

Anthropic's own data handling practices apply to the portion of the request processed by their API. We encourage you to review Anthropic's privacy policy for details on how they handle API data.

3. Third-Party Services

UCantWrite relies on the following third-party services:

• Anthropic (Claude API) — processes prompt enhancement requests. API inputs and outputs are handled according to Anthropic's data policies.
• Vercel — hosts our web dashboard. Vercel may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of normal web hosting.

4. Cookies

UCantWrite uses cookies only for basic site functionality (for example, remembering your billing period preference). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies.

5. Children's Privacy

UCantWrite is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

6. Data Security

All communication between your browser, our servers, and the Anthropic API is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Because we do not store your prompts or personal data, there is minimal data at rest to protect.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
